Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Races
The Fastest Growing Kid's Race West of the Mississippi!
Come join the Vail Recreation District for the 3rd Annual Mighty Marmot Kids Trail Race Series! Youths ages 4 to 10 are welcome to participate. Chose between 1 or 2 miles* to compete amongst your friends and celebrate with awards and ice cream after you finish!
*4-year-olds can only race in the 1 mile category
Series Expansion for 2024!
There will be 3 races across the Vail Valley. The races will start at 4:15 p.m. and participants can choose between one-mile and two-mile options. Parents may run with their child.
The race will start and finish in Maloit Park in Minturn behind Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy.
Due to construction at Eagle County School District Preschool (formerly June Creek Elementary School), the location for this race has change to the Minturn Mini, Little Beach Park in Minturn. This race is sold out there will be no day of registration.
Race will start at the Beaver Creek Ice Rink at 4:30 PM
There will be no day of registration. Race is capped at 140 participants, please register early.

Online registration closes the night before the race (11:59 p.m. on Thursday)
Awards & Prizes
Races will be timed and the top three racers in each age group (boys and girls 4 (1 mile only) , 5-6, 7-8, 9-10) will be recognized. Awards & raffle will take place on site immediately after each race.
After-Party
Kids can enjoy pizza or mac n' cheese after the race followed by icecream! Food can be picked up immediately after finishing to enjoy and cheer on fellow racers as they finish.
