Join Us for the First Trail Running Race of the Season!
The Boneyard Boogie kicks off the 2025 Vail Trail Running Series with a 14K scamper through pinyon groves and juniper shrubs on some of Eagle's most scenic single track trails, with an elevation gain of 1,279 feet, reaching a maximum elevation of 7,718 feet. Both races will start and end at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink, with the 14K starting at 9:00 a.m. and the 6K starting at 9:15 a.m.

14K:
- The race begins at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink Parking Lot
- Runners will head West onto the Rec Path
- Turn right onto Ringneck
- Turn right onto Hernage Ditch Path and continue past the Eagle Cemetary
- Turn right just after the Eagle Cemetary onto Charlie Brown Trail
- Runners uses caution as you cross Polar Star Drive into the Bluffs neighborhood on Mill Road
- Turn right onto Bluffs Drive
- Turn right to the Bluffs Trailhead and begin running up the gravel road called Bellyache Road
- Arrival at Aid Station #1
- Turn left onto Boneyard Trail shortly after the aid station
- Stay on Boneyard Trail for 3 miles
- Turn left onto Bellyache Road
- Turn right and arrive at Aid Station #2
- Continue straight past the aid station onto Pool & Ice Rink Trail
- Remain on Pool & Ice Rink Trail for 2 miles. Please be careful of the big bike burms
- Turn right at the 6K/14K Trail Merge and continue on Pool & Ice Rink Trail
- Remain on Pool & Ice Rink Trail for 1 mile
- Run around the Pool & Ice Rink Building and turn left back into the finish at the parking lot
6K:
- The race begins at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink Parking Lot
- Runners will head East onto the gravel road
- Run straight onto the Haymaker Trail
- Turn right after 100' and continue onto Haymaker Trail
- Stay on Haymaker Trail for 0.5 miles
- Turn left and then right to continue on Haymaker
- Continue on Haymaker for 0.75 miles to the aid station
- Turn left at the aid station
- Continue on Haymaker for 0.75 miles
- Turn right at the next trail split and head towards the 6K/14K Trail Merge
- Turn left at the 6K/14K Trail Merge and continue on Pool & Ice Rink Trail
- Remain on Pool & Ice Rink Trail for 1 mile
- Run around the Pool & Ice Rink Building and turn left back into the finish at the parking lot
Water will be available at all aid stations to quench your thirst or cool you off!
Thanks to Skratch Labs, there will be Skratch Hydration Sport Drink and Skratch Energy Chews at Aid Stations to give you the electrolytes and energy it needs to finish strong.
The Vail Trail Running Series is a papercup-less race series. Please keep this in mind when preparing for the race. We highly encourage you to bring your own hydration device or reusable cups.
Thanks to Northside Kitchen, there will be donuts and fresh fruit at race finish for you to refuel!

Friday, May 16: Racers can pick up their race numbers or register ahead of time from 4 to 6 p.m. at Peak Performance Footwear in Edwards, Colorado. (97 Main St E103, Edwards, CO 81632)
Saturday, May 17: Race day bib pickup and registration will be available next to the race start/finish area at the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink.
- Racers are asked to park at Eagle Bike Park's dirt lot, adjacent to the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. Carpooling is recommended.
- There is no racer parking allowed at the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink Parking Lot.

Racers that complete all 7 races of the Vail Trail Running Series earn a Vail Trails All-Star Gift!
Racer parking will be available at Eagle Bike Park's dirt lot, adjacent to the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. Carpooling is recommended.
Awards will be presented at Capitol Public House. Come and enjoy a free Mountain Time Lager (if you're over 21 years old) and burgers (veggie burgers will be available) while we celebrate the start to our season!
- 14K Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over
- 6K Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three males and females in the following age groups: Juniors 19 and under, Open 20-39, 40-59 and 60 and over
Raffle: All racers will be entered into a raffle for great prizes from our sponsors! Racers must be present to win.
T-Shirts: At race finish, make sure to pick up your custom race t-shirt (cotton or tech material)! There is a large selection of sizes for you to chose from once you finish! We alternate t-shirt material each race for the Vail Trail Running Series.
