Recreation Service Specialist - Community Programming
Community Programming is seeking a Recreation Service Specialist to help run the Imagination Station in Lionshead and help with our After School Program, School's Out Camp and summer day camps for the Vail Valley.
Position duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Imagination Station (all aspects)
- Supporting/working at After School, Camp Vail or Pre Kamp when needed
- Administering all aspects of recreation programming, and mentoring hourly personnel, communicating department and VRD operations, policies, and procedures, and executing departmental goals and strategies
- Representing VRD as liaison to youth-serving agencies, community organizations and professional associations
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: One to three (1-3) years of progressively responsible experience in recreation and/or community programming for youth
Required Licenses, Certificates or Training:
- Valid Driver’s license
- Completion of required annual training and coursework
- Required state licensing in standard precautions, universal precautions, and medication administration
- Minimum 460 hours of documented work with school age children recognized by state licensing
- CPR, first aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within first six months of hire
- Water safety instructor or lifeguard certification preferred
- CBI, FBI, and TRAILS background check, and equivalent checks in all states of residence in the past five years

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, early childhood/elementary education, and/or related field

Director of Gymnastics - Vail, CO
Vail Gymnastics is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated recreational Director of Gymnastics to lead and grow our recreational and team gymnastics program.
This leadership position is ideal for someone who loves coaching, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and leads by example through positivity, professionalism, and high energy.
The director will oversee all aspects of our recreational and team gymnastics programs, including coach development, class quality, customer experience, enrollment growth, and day-to-day operations. VRD is seeking Pickleball Staff for the Summer!
Vail Recreation District is seeking staff to assist in running summer VRD pickleball programs at the Golden Peak Pickleball Center in Vail.
Qualifications include strong organizational, communication and customer service skills, along with experience teaching sports to both adults and children. This fun, outdoor position includes leading drop-in play, organizing leagues and teaching pickleball to players of all ages and skill levels.
- Full Time and Part Time Positions Available
