Marketing and Communications Director

The Vail Recreation District is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Director for a full-time, year-round benefited position.

This role performs/oversees a variety of responsibilities in marketing and communications, as well as supports department heads to meet participation goals.


The Marketing and Communications Director will develop and implement integrated marketing and communication strategies to promote VRD’s programs, events, and facilities. This position requires advanced knowledge of terminology, procedures and best practices used in the areas of marketing, communications, and public relations.


Responsibilities include managing VRD’s public relations efforts, online/social media presence and press coverage. The ideal candidate will be confident in performing self-directed work, possess strong leadership skills and excel in organization and detail-oriented tasks.


Education and Experience:
Any combination of education, experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
• Education: Two (2) year Associate degree in marketing, communications, graphic design and/or related field
• Experience: Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, and/or related field


Required Licenses, Certificates or Training:
• Colorado Driver’s license
• CPR, first aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within first six months of hire
Other Special Requirements:
• Schedule may need to adjust to include long days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call

Job Status: Full-time, year-round benefited position

Hiring range is $79,593 to $92,200 DOE

Gymnastics

Assistant Coach - Gymnastics

Provides leadership and support for Vail Recreation District’s (VRD) gymnastics division in the recreation department, including participant and community relations, instructing participants, assisting with facility operations, administrative support and scheduling, and ensuring the safety of participants and staff.

Reports to: The gymnastics director and the head coach

Responsibilities: Supervises the following positions: part-time coaches, seasonal staff
